Plot Summary
This is the inspirational and true story of William "Dummy" Hoy. One of major league baseball's first deaf players, Hoy's life and baseball feats are chronicled from his youth through the closing of an amazing 18 year major league career. Learn of Hoy's many achievements on the field including being credited with the creation of "hand signals" still used in baseball today! The life of Dummy Hoy is something young and old can marvel at. As a deaf man, he was able to achieve things unthinkable in a time and place that had great prejudice towards people with disabilities. This story will truly inspire those with disabilities or even perceived handicaps, showing that indeed personal greatness and success in life can come in many forms, no matter the odds against you.

I See The Crowd Roar
Wasn't expecting much from this low budget docudrama. Ex sportscaster Roy Firestone narrates with authority on the sport and ads a nice touch to the film. It has some cheesy re-inactments but still tells a story worth knowing about. The actor who plays Dummy Hoy is actually deaf so it does have a nice amount of authenticity to it. It actually is quite inspirational and a very interesting story about the first deaf major league baseball player and what he accomplished. I actually cried at the end and I dont like sports films.
I would recommend for anyone who may feel like they have any type of handicap and need something to show them that anything is possible if you want it bad enough.
