Plot Summary
Scrat's nutty pursuit of the cursed acorn, which he's been after since the dawn of time, has world-changing consequences - a continental cataclysm that triggers the greatest adventure of all for Manny, Diego and Sid. In the wake of these upheavals, Sid reunites with his cantankerous Granny, and the herd encounter a ragtag menagerie of seafaring pirates determined to stop them from returning home.

Rotten: This fourth installment featuring the computer-animated, prehistoric critters is aimless and derivative. While the first Ice Age movie in 2002 was inventive and cute, there's far too little here that's fresh.
Fresh: The dialogue is sometimes too sluggish and definitely too preachy, the ending is a little too sappy, yet somehow this strange collection of prehistoric critters and their completely illogical life are consistently likable, if not quite lovable.
Rotten: The best bits are basic and all but voiceless: those Scrat-intensive set pieces, still inspiredly squirrelly if much too far apart.
Rotten: The filmmakers stuff the film to a manic degree, albeit with increasingly textured animation.

A TEPID SEQUEL TO A MELTING FRANCHISE
When I first saw "Ice Age" more than a decade ago, it immediately became one of my all-time favorite animated films. Boasting stunning animation, delightful storytelling, hilarious voice work, and an off-the-wall cast of prehistoric characters, the movie not only helped put Blue Sky Studios on the map, but it also spawned a hugely popular saga that eventually went on to become one of the most financially successful film franchises of all time. However, just because the sequels that followed made a ton of money at the box office doesn't necessarily mean they were as good as the original flick. "The Meltdown" and "Dawn of the Dinosaurs", while beautifully animated and cleverly witty, ultimately faltered due to their lack of imagination, incoherent stories, and manic pacing. Sadly, "Continental Drift" does virtually nothing to improve upon the flaws of its predecessors. In fact, this film only manages to make things worse, throwing out any potential usage of witty humor in favor of more of the same nonstop slapstick and sight gags we've seen over and over again in the previous movies. It doesn't exactly help that the story is almost entirely identical to the plot from "Happy Feet Two", making it all the more predictable. That being said, there are still some things that I genuinely enjoyed about this flick. For one, the voice cast does a great job bringing life to their characters, even if some of them are entirely annoying beyond belief. For some reason, I just couldn't get over Nicki Minaj's ear-splitting voice. But at least everyone else is fantastic, especially Wanda Sykes as Sid's hilariously cantankerous Granny and even Peter Dinklage as the villainous ape captain of a ragtag pirate crew. And as for that nutty little squirrel, Scrat, he's still just as prevalent in this movie as he was in the previous three. Only this time, his never-ending pursuit of the cursed acorn literally has earth-shattering consequences. If only this film were all about Scrat, then it might've been a fully entertaining experience. But no, "Ice Age 4" still focuses the majority of its attention on Manny, Diego, and Sid, who are quickly becoming more and more tedious to watch with each movie. Not even the additions of several new characters are enough to make up for the flick's utter lack of inspiration and pure fun. Overall, "Continental Drift" doesn't have much to offer that we already haven't seen before. The jokes are predictable, the story is an incoherent mess, and the best bits almost always feature Scrat. Sadly, what once started out as an energetic, fun-filled animated film has turned into an incessant cash grab of a family franchise. The kids will enjoy every second of this movie for sure, but as for everyone else, it may or may not be to your liking. Just in case, though, I suggest renting it. Maybe now, Fox can finally leave the "Ice Age" saga the way it is and move on to different projects. But seeing as how the films keep on making money for the studio, that probably won't be happening anytime soon.

This is defenitly one of the most funniest movie in the world it is also very awesome so i definetly think you should watch this movie
