Plot Summary
‘Twas the night before Christmas and all through the house, not a creature was stirring…except for a massive crack in the earth’s crust brought on by a horrible earthquake. Now, deadly gas has started to erupt from deep within the earth’s core, and the world could end before New Year’s Eve! It's up to a geologist (Brendan Fehr) and his family to save the world by stopping the crack from spreading, and the gas from getting into a nearby cave system that would destroy the planet. Also starring Victor Garber.

Warning: Made for TV -- and very badly
The casting seems to have been based on, "Hire the first 20 people that come in the door." The dialog seems to have been written by the High School Freshman English class, with the plot and scientific content contributed by the fifth grade. I had to bail out just past the 60 minute mark when the stupidity became so overwhelming I couldn't stand it any more. Oh yeah, the scenery wasn't bad.
