Top Critics' Reviews

Rotten: Like actors in an amateur stage play, the large, mostly all-star -- or has-been star -- cast of In the Name of the King: A Dungeon Siege Tale look, rather dazedly, to be playing dress-up. – Laura Kern, New York Times, Jun 24, 2010

Rotten: A plodding patchwork of derivative fantasy-adventure, medieval production design, risible dialogue, unimpressive CGI trickery and haphazardly edited action sequences. – Joe Leydon, Variety, Jun 24, 2010

Rotten: Uwe Boll isn't the worst director in the world, but In the Name of the King might be more enjoyable if he were. – Sam Adams, Los Angeles Times, Jun 24, 2010

Rotten: The film never achieves a suitable level of camp that would make it at least unintentional fun. It also is terminally boring at its 127-minute running time, making one supremely grateful that a half-hour has been cut for this U.S. release. – Frank Scheck, Hollywood Reporter, Jun 24, 2010

SO BAD! That is become hilarious!

I swear I have never laughed as hard as i did when watching this movie!!!! It is a definitate must see for anyone who likes hilariously bad movies!!!

Amazingly Terrible

After watching just ten minutes of this movie I could tell that it was going to rapidly climb to the top of my list of God Awful movies. Everything just doesn't work at all. Uwe Bole throws together yet another travesty with decent actors delivering terrible lines (embarassingly terrible lines) in a silly story as one dimensional characters. The actors are either hamming it up, or phoning their lines in to get a paycheck. As another review has already said, this movie is so bad that it is funny. Not really intentionally comedic kinda funny, but more of the 'overly inebriated best friend making an inappropriate toast during the wedding reception' kinda funny. Watch it at your own risk.

DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY

This movie is terrible! I payed good money to go and see it in theaters and if I can save just one person from making the mistake I made then mission accomplished. Terrible plot, acting, directing, editing, casting, and just about everything else. Jason Statham was even bad and I really like him as an actor. Ray Leota looked like a nut and acted like one and the whole thing was just wrong. UWE doesn't quite do it justice haha.
