Plot Summary
Exhausted from the demands of his abilities as a healer, Diego lives in isolation on a small island in his native Puerto Rico. However, his quiet life is disrupted when Hilary, an American documentarian, arrives to continue her project on migration and identity. Attracted to Diego's mystery and the local gossip about him, she becomes close to him, but discovers his "talent" has a violent edge, one that brings painful consequences to both of them.

Arthouse Thriller/Drama/Horror?
This film is such a fresh approach to the horror/thriller/drama. Don't know where to place it but it has a european feel to it. The location is amazing. Beautiful photography. The music is top notch. Intense acting from both leads. Original story and approach to a subject we always take for granted. It's about a healer who goes crazier and darker every time he heals a person.
In the Shadow is a great film.
Beautiful and captivating
Set in the beautiful island of Culebra, Puerto Rico, this thriller takes you through majestic cinematography into the dark world of Diego the healer (Sermini) seeking his true self, purpose, and redemption. When he meets a traveling journalist Hilary (Keffer), Diego is forced to open and let go, but not without some sacrifice. The story, woven up together via the captivating scenes perfectly tuned with the soundtrack, combined with the thrill of the unknown and great acting, will keep you at the edge of your seat. Danny Trejo brings depth and character to the film. Great film for relatively new filmmakers Elmer and Sermini. Keffer and Sermini did a great job carrying the movie.
