Top Critics' Reviews

Fresh: Too shapeless to be the fun that Raiders is, but shape may be beside the point. Old- time, 15-part movie serials didn't have shape. The just went on and on and on, which is what Indiana Jones does with humor and technical invention. – Vincent Canby, New York Times, Jul 16, 2008

Fresh: Again you will savor the Indiana Jones schizophrenia: by day a bow-tied, bespectacled archaeologist; by night a resourceful swaggerer, whom Ford brings to life as a modern blend of Bogie and the Duke, with just a glint of misfit psychopathy in his eyes. – Richard Corliss, TIME Magazine, Jun 24, 2010

Rotten: Pic comes on like a sledgehammer, and there's even a taste of vulgarity and senseless excess not apparent in Raiders. – Todd McCarthy, Variety, Jul 7, 2010

Fresh: The kind of movie where your date is always grabbing your forearm in a viselike grip, as unbearable excitement unfolds on the screen. After the movie is over, you've had a great time but your arm is black-and-blue for a week. – Roger Ebert, Chicago Sun-Times, Jul 7, 2010

Customer Reviews

A top notch action/adventure movie.

I personally love this movie. You can argue that the movie is too intense or that it has the Indian stereotype. But in the end, it's an Indiana jones movie. You can't take it too seriously. The movie is a lot about the good action, fun characters, and interesting strorylines. I also really like the intensity of the movie. I loved it when I was a kid and I just think its good that they took a couple risks. I don't get that these days. Overall I love it and I hope others agree.

It Has It's Moments

I remember liking this one as a kid, but at this age, it can be a bit hokey. Still, Harrison Ford is awesome. I do enjoy it for it's cool parts, especially with Mola Ram.
