Top Critics' Reviews

Fresh: The broad, black humor of the Coens' early features has ripened over the years into a sadder, more philosophical brand of comedy (A Serious Man) that puts them in a class with Billy Wilder and Ernst Lubitsch (yeah, you heard me). – J. R. Jones, Chicago Reader, Dec 23, 2013

Fresh: Celebrating and mourning a bygone moment, "Inside Llewyn Davis" is a tuneful wake intended to arouse us from our slumber to desires worth remembering. – Lisa Kennedy, Denver Post, Dec 20, 2013

Fresh: This is one of the strangest yet most satisfying movie experiences of the year, one of those films in which you can't really appreciate what you've seen until it's over. You just have to trust that the trip is worth the trouble. And it is. – Bill Goodykoontz, Arizona Republic, Dec 24, 2013

Fresh: The Coen brothers have crafted another unique period piece. – Richard Roeper, Richard Roeper.com, Dec 20, 2013

Not worth the time .

I wish I would have been warned not to watch this screenplay ( not a movie ) . I would have paid someone double the cost of this movie if they would have just warned me not to watch it.

Huh?

Im sorry….I just don’t get it. All these great reviews, to me it was just a horrible depressing movie that made me wonder if I’m even on the same planet as the other reviewers.

For adults who are interested in the folk scene

The movie feels like a documentary, the quality of being there is so strong. The songs are played with feeling... the period...

This isn't a warm and fuzzy about a cool dude.
Well done. I will watch it again.
