An overlooked gem worth treasuring!! Highly recommended!!

After 25 years, "Inside Moves" still remains as one of the best and most uplifting movies that I've ever seen in my life. Richard Donner directed this movie two years after 1978's "Superman: The Movie", and Donner did such a fantastic job with directing "Inside Moves". It's a small scale film that tells a simple human story and it shows that Donner can win with both big and small films. And the performances of the cast are top-notch in every way! John Savage ("Hair", "The Deer Hunter") showcases one of his finest performances in the film as Roary, a former basketball star who jumps from a 10-story building in a failed suicide attempt. After said attempt and spending a few months in the hospital, Roary is left disabled. And just when Roary thinks that things couldn't possibly get any worse that it already has, he goes into a local bar where he meets and befriends some lovable characters, some of which are also disabled. David Morse (in his film debut) plays a bartender named Jerry, who dreams of being a basketball player, but a knee injury has put an end to his dream. When Jerry befriends Roary, they forge an unforgettable bond that can never be broken. Diana Scarwid (in an Academy Award nominated performance for Best Supporting Actress) turns in an excellent performance as Louise, a barmaid with whom Roary is instantly smitten. In conclusion, "Inside Moves" is a film that is definitely well worth your time and money...or iTunes credit. A strong cast of characters that really have chemistry make this a fun and poignant movie. It's all about friends brought together by circumstance and how they cope with life together, with side stories and humor woven in nicely to go along with the story's pacing. There is definitely a high possiblity that I will be buying "Inside Moves" here on iTunes. Even though I've rated the movie 5 stars, here's my personal rating for the film: 10 out of 10!! "Inside Moves" is THAT good!!

It's in Stupid FULL Screen format !

A movie this good should be respected and presented in Wide Screen format (2:35)
You can have your computer graphics, Give me a good story. And this one is.

Aren't we all handicapped?

It’s been too long since I first watched this film. John Savage and David Morse are practically babies, but their performances are most memorable as are the cast of “flawed" characters who represent every one of us in one form or another. I think this film is brilliant in its humanity.
