Plot Summary

Though no one can see him, Hollow Face lurks in the corners, desperately desiring love but only knowing how to spread fear and hate. He creeps into the life of John Farrow (Clive Owen) after Farrow’s beloved 13-year-old daughter Mia (Ella Purnell) is assaulted in their home. The line between the real and the imaginary blurs as fissures start to open within the family unit. It seems that no security measure can keep Hollow Face out.

Top Critics' Reviews

Rotten: Director Juan Carlos Fresnadillo's technical skills are impressive, but this psychological chiller loses traction in the over-explanatory concluding stretch. – David Rooney, Hollywood Reporter, Oct 3, 2011

Rotten: With nothing tangible at stake, Intruders is just an aggregation of influences that's as blank as its bogeyman. – Mark Holcomb, Village Voice, Mar 27, 2012

Rotten: Little happens in the first act, and most of what transpires in the second will be contradicted by the events of the third. Doesn't leave much of a net sum. – Andrew Lapin, NPR, Mar 29, 2012

Rotten: If you don't guess the big twist in the first 30 minutes, "Intruders" is half of a good movie. If you do, it's about a third of a good movie. – Amy Biancolli, San Francisco Chronicle, Mar 29, 2012

Nice suspense and scary!

I was expecting a low budget movie but, this had a really good story. If you have ever watched those Spain made scary movies, you'll know what i'm talking about.

Interesting and Eerie

This movie had an impressive imaginative story. It kept you wondering and trying to connect the dots. It was like a fairytale made into a nightmare that was shared by a father and daughter. It left you wondering if the nightmare was real or simply a shared delusion between the 2 characters.

Boogyman with resolution as told through the lens of a history buff.

This movie weaves those innocent fears we envision as a child into an adaptive story. Highly gripping while still providing resolution. A simple vision in the hands of a beautiful storyteller.
