Top Critics' Reviews
Rotten: More than 24 hours has passed since I watched the new Adam Sandler movie Jack and Jill and I am still dead inside.
Rotten: Feels like an elementary school recess that's gone on too long, the merrymaking strained and the participants looking tired even when they're in full comic dudgeon.
Rotten: Lazy and slapdash, the work of a comedian trusting too much in his own hilariousness.
Rotten: It's pretty sad if you're a comic and Al Pacino is the funniest thing in your movie.

HORRIBLE BEYOND WORDS!
I knew exactly what I was getting myself into when I went to see "Jack and Jill", and let me tell you, my expectations were low (and I mean really low). Adam Sandler is pretty much known for making and starring in financially successful lowbrow comedies filled with excessive toilet humor and outrageously crude jokes, so of course this film was gonna get panned by critics just like "Grown Ups" and "Just Go With It". But unlike those two movies, which actually did manage to make me laugh, this one didn't. In fact, it ended up being so bad, I considered leaving the theatre not once, but twice while watching it. But unfortunately, I decided to sit through the whole entire thing, hoping that I'd find at least one joke capable of making me crack up. I didn't laugh once, and neither did most of the audience I sat with. And who could blame us? The acting was beyond atrocious, the screenplay was a disaster, and the jokes were not only disgustingly immature, but even borderline racist. The characters were even worse, especially that of Jill (played by Sandler in drag). Disgusting, obnoxious, and not likable or sympathetic in the least bit, she farts uncontrollably, sweats like a pig, and never shuts her mouth for the duration of the film. The worst part is that she's treated like garbage the whole time, but we don't even care because she acts like a blithering idiot throughout the entire movie. As for the other characters, Jack (also played by Sandler) is a total jerk, his wife (Katie Holmes) is completely forgettable, their two kids are little brats, and Al Pacino is constantly hitting on Jill. Oh yeah, I almost forgot to mention that Pacino stars in this movie…as himself. Although he's the only actor who gives an inexplicably committed performance throughout the majority of the flick, he completely embarrasses himself by uttering the most cliched dialogue imaginable and even dancing in a Dunkin' Donuts commercial. Honestly, people, I couldn't make this up if I tried. By the time the movie was finally over, I was so angry, I honestly considered asking for a refund. But then I realized that it wouldn't change a thing. The damage had already been done. For the rest of my life, I'll have to live with myself knowing that I actually sat through this horrendous abomination of a film. Not only did it offend the intelligence of me and everyone in the audience I sat with, but it completely tarnished my faith in Sandler's capability of making quality movies. Sure, "Grown Ups" and "Just Go With It" were stupid and unoriginal, but at least they made me laugh at times. "Jack and Jill", on the other hand, was a disaster on every single level imaginable. It was so awful, it made "Zookeeper" look like a masterpiece in comparison. You know what? I don't think I need to express my anger any further. All I'm asking is that you DON'T buy or rent this atrocity. If you do so, I can guarantee you'll regret it. Please, just leave this page right now so you won't even be tempted.
Greatest Movie
I can't stand all these haters!! I love this movie it's funny and you know it.!
You Gotta Be Kidding!
I normally don't write reviews, and I've held off for quite a while, but I have to on this one. I took my grandsons to see this movie a while back because they wanted to see it based on the trailer. We all know trailers pick the best parts to lure you in, but c'mon, this was ridiculous. I've never been an Adam Sandler fan and this flick ended any hope of me becoming one. I've never seen anything so mindless in my life. There was nothing in this that even brought a giggle let along a genuine laugh. My oldest grandson who's nine years old even said he didn't think it was funny. Believe the critics and the rotten tomatoes and save your money on this one.
