Plot Summary
Janeane Wilson is a conservative Iowa housewife who works as a home health aide, keeps busy in her garden, and attends a local women’s bible study group. But as the 2012 presidential election draws near, she is determined to find a Republican candidate who will take America back from the Democrats, repeal Obamacare, defund Planned Parenthood and get rid of gay marriage issues that she feels are destroying the country she loves. She dives into Iowa Tea Party politics and the lead-up to the Iowa caucus, but a crumbling economy causes her to lose everything she holds dear. Janeane loses her job, her marriage, her health, and her home. As Mitt Romney, Michele Bachmann, Rick Santorum, Rick Perry and Newt Gingrich crisscross Iowa during her hour of need, Janeane presses them for answers that she and many of her fellow Americans would like to hear. Starring Jane Edith Wilson and directed by Grace Lee, this work of political fiction is a cautionary tale about a true believer whose faith is severely tested.

Beautiful film / Important film
All,
I hated Janeane at the start and loved her at the end...Jane Edith Wilson gives a remarkable (Oscar worthy) performance.
Beautiful film, job well done something everyone should se before the elections.
So Unique!
I was absolutely blown away by how thoughtful and unique this movie was. Jane Edith Wilson knocks it out of the park with her portrayal of a concerned tea party affiliate. It is hard not to believe Janeane isn't real. Very well thought out and extremely well executed.
No Punkin'
When I first heard of this film, I thought of MEDIUM COOL (which I love), but I feel this film goes beyond that by engaging with the political arena like I've never seen before. TANNER '88 is also similar, but the candidates were in on it. What makes this film unique and amazing is that the fictional character Janeane is asking the candidates the same questions that a regular voter would have asked, but Janeane is a bit more forceful in her thirst for answers, and takes the candidates and their staffs out of their comfort zones. In a world of cynicism and hyperbole, Janeane cuts a sharp knife through the crap to try and get some solid answers - and further reveals the mainstream media for its failure to do the same. This is not a punkin' film. It's a fictional character asking simple questions to candidates who are seeking to be the next President of the United States.
