Plot Summary

Just when you thought it was safe to go back in the water… Jaws 2 surfaces from the deep with even more terror and suspense! The resort town of Amity is still recovering from the events of Jaws four years earlier when Police Chief Brody (Roy Scheider) receives disturbing news of fresh attacks. As Brody tries to convince the locals of the nearby threat, his own teen son ignores the warnings and braves the waters with a group of naive friends. From Academy Award®-winning producer Richard D. Zanuck (Deep Impact, Planet of the Apes) comes this terrifying second chapter of the film franchise that continues to keep audiences out of the ocean.

Customer Reviews

One of the greatest sequels of all time.

"Just when you thought it was safe to go back in the water." is one of the most instantly recognizable movie tag lines of all time, This movie is highly underrated. Steven Spielberg's 1975 masterpeice "Jaws" may have not needed a Sequel (let alone 3) but it was made & where it may not stand atop a pedestal like the original film - this Sequel stands on it's own as a great film work of art. Just as scary, just as dramatic, and a great peice of Horror film history during the 1970's. If you loved the original, you'll at the very least like this film. I just wish Universal Pictures would put more love into this film & release a heart felt editon of it on blu ray, give it a watch - I'm sure you'll enjoy it.

Just when i THOUGHT it was safe !

Actually when Jaws 2 was released in 78' i saw it every week it was in release besides "Grease" it's all that was happeneing at the theater that summer. It was a fun summer movie and that's what it's real intent is. This one is worth a rent and i will buy it on Blu ray if it ever is released. I only gave it 4 stars because i subtracted one star for that insipid screaming girl at the end.

Its ok.

But the first will always be number 1.
