Plot Summary
In the vein of great comedic mockumentaries like Waiting for Guffman and Best in Show, comes JESUS PEOPLE! Based on the hilarious and popular FunnyorDie.com web series, the film charts the rise and fall of America’s worst Christian pop band! Pastor Jerry gets possibly awful medical news and is determined to reach his rebellious teen while he still can. Jerry forms Cross My Heart, a Christian band, to keep his son on a “righteous” path. He finds four young musicians with varying levels of talent and the first single Save The World! takes off on multiple (and some unexpected) radio formats. But the band starts to unravel! The fully scripted, yet highly ad-libbed comedy stars great improv actors Wendi McLendon-Covey (Bridesmaids, ""The Goldbergs,"" ""Reno 911""), Mindy Sterling (Austin Powers trilogy, ""Desperate Housewives""), Jennifer Elise Cox (The Brady Bunch Movie, A Very Brady Sequel), Tim Bagley (This is 40, Knocked Up) and Laura Silverman (""Nurse Jackie,"" ""The Sarah Silverman Program"").

hilarious ... and poignant.
Saw this at a film festival. Such an undiscovered gem. Funny, hilarious - and filled with some of my favorite actors. But also? Surprisingly heartfelt.
Hilarious and not mean.
This movie was so great. I literally laughed out loud so many times. Even though it is about a Christian band (a bad one) it isn’t mean or making fun of Christians. I am not religious and I LOVED this film because it’s so well done and funny. If you like mockumentaries or shows like The Office this is one for you!
