Plot Summary
The film's hero, "FH" (Billy Crudup, Almost Famous, Watchmen), is a rumpled, hapless young man in his twenties who bounces through his days with his dreams and hallucinations blurring and merging into reality. The shaky center of his universe is his beloved on-again, off-again girlfriend Michelle (Samantha Morton). Wandering from comical misadventures to other more challenging quests, "FH" is propelled through his chaotic life by a heartfelt desire to help the misfits around him (Jack Black, Dennis Hopper, Denis Leary and Holly Hunter).

An fantastic movie based on one of the best books ive ever read! usually movies dont live up to fine literature but they pulled it off well. I recomend you watch this movie or at least read the book!

OK Adaptation
The better the book, the harder it is to turn into a film. And Denis Johnson’s “Jesus’s Son” is on of the greatest short story books ever written, so it only makes sense that the film cannot compare to the book. Dennis Hopper and Holly Hunter are really good and Denis Leary isn’t bad, but the rest of the cast fail to bring out the true characters of the book and I felt the editing could have been better.
