Top Critics' Reviews

Rotten: You feel sorry for everyone who's working so hard to prop up the farce - especially Mr. Fogel, the director, whose work seems alternately desperate and lost. – David DeWitt, New York Times, Sep 19, 2013

Rotten: To call this winkfest toward an astoundingly retrograde sliver of Judaism offensive would be, well, offensive to the word offensive. – Gary Goldstein, Los Angeles Times, Sep 19, 2013

Rotten: It's a movie that thinks it stands for openness and cultural understanding, underneath the poop jokes, when in fact it manages to be offensive to almost everyone, including people who like to laugh at something because it's funny ... – Diana Clarke, Village Voice, Sep 17, 2013

Rotten: Fogel and co-writer Sam Wolfson - adapting their own off-Broadway play - take ... a lazy approach to the cultural divides they aim to satirize. – Elizabeth Weitzman, New York Daily News, Sep 19, 2013

Good

Seems nice

Audiences seem to love it & critics despise it

As an audience member, sometimes it just feels good to laugh at ourselves and the stereotypes we have created as a culture. Its silly and vulgar humor, so if you enjoy that - you'll have a good time. Better with friends. Its clear this isn't meant to be an Oscar contender, just an amuser. It more than does its job.

Honestly made my day

This week has sucked. I needed to laugh and now I have. Almost peed my pants to be perfectly honest. Great cast and all so TRUE!!! Love you mom!
