Plot Summary
John Leguizamo's award-winning HBO stand-up performance is a semi-autobiographical story about his life growing up and his journey to try to be accepted by his father. Directed by Spike Lee, and shot before a live audience at New York's Cort Theatre, John hilariously takes on every racial and ethnic stereotype. Alternately funny, raunchy and poignant, Freak spotlights Leguizamo’s gift for storytelling as he effortlessly slips in and out of a wide range of characters from his dysfunctional childhood in Queens, New York.
