Affecting

     

This movie was surprisingly and affecting. Arquette's natural tics are well-used in his character, while Lukas Haas once again conveys an angelic presence in his newbie hustler. The denouement, while sadly expected, was still sharp enough to not feel like too much of a cliche, while the climax was terribly moving. Kudos also to the actors whose characters interact with the two leads, especially Richard Kind's officious hotel clerk and Elliott Gould's sentimental family man, not to mention the weird villainy of Terrence Howard's character.
