Plot Summary

On June 4 1976, four young men from ruined, post-industrial Manchester, England went to see a Sex Pistols show at the Manchester Lesser Free Trade Hall. Inspired by the gig that is now credited with igniting the Manchester music scene, they formed what was to become one of the world's most influential bands, Joy Division. Now, thirty years later, despite a tragedy that was to cut them off in their prime, they are enjoying a larger audience and more influence than ever before, with a profound legacy that resonates fiercely in today's heavily manufactured pop culture.

I will be 89 and on my death bed listening to this band as i drift into the great beyond...with a slight smile on my face...any doc with the members of this band still giving us any insight into this true milestone of epic influence in the lives of real human beings is good enough for me...buy now 13bucks...well worth!!Thank you......

A film that captures what the music brings. Joy Division is like no other band, and nobody sounds like Joy Division. You can loose, yet find yourself in a sound that makes you think and feel about life. This band makes you want to grab people by the shoulders and say "Listen!" I can't emagine a world without THIS! Do yourself a favor....look,listen and experience...you'll be glad you did!

Holy Crap!!!

I have been in to Joy Division for about 24 years and have always loved their music, but this takes it to a whole different level. The film documentary is a awesome blend of verbal stories first hand account of members of the band and live film clips of the band playing from the start. i can not help but wonder what would have happened if Ian Curtis would have lived. What would they have produced? What changes would have been made on the music over the years? Would they have sounded like New Order or would they take a totally different direction? I guess we shall never know but the world is a better place for having Joy Division even though it was for a brief 4 years.
