Plot Summary
A dreamlike exploration of an inexplicable, overwhelming passion, JUST A SIGH is set in motion when a broke actress (Emmanuelle Devos) who’s between stage performances in Calais takes a quick jaunt to Paris for an audition. On the train, she meets an attractive, mysterious Irish stranger (Gabriel Byrne). Intrigued, she follows him into the metropolis and soon finds herself facing the possibility of an entirely new life.

Fresh: You may complain that "Just a Sigh" is too episodic to cohere and that Alix's eccentricities are plot mechanisms. But to me, this fateful day-in-the-life feels believable.
Rotten: The interiors of our likeable lovers have not been furnished substantially enough to suggest real lives beyond the hotel walls.
