Top Critics' Reviews

Rotten: Ultimately ... two points of emphasis must be pared down to one, and this is where "Kill Your Darlings," arriving at the fork in the road, makes the wrong turn. – Mick LaSalle, San Francisco Chronicle, Oct 31, 2013

Fresh: Kill Your Darlings is a tale of inspiration, then, but also a tale of jealousy, obsession, homophobia, and homicide. It's a whirlwind. – Steven Rea, Philadelphia Inquirer, Nov 8, 2013

Fresh: You don't need to know the Beats to understand "Kill Your Darlings," you just need to know the twinkling promise, and dark turns, of life. – Tom Long, Detroit News, Nov 22, 2013

Fresh: "Kill Your Darlings" occupies some in-between place, with young, intelligent actors working hard at being gritty as their director makes sure we see every ounce of effort. – Bill Goodykoontz, Arizona Republic, Nov 8, 2013

Great movie!

Phenomenal movie!! These actors bring life to some of literature's most well known writers. Dane Dehaan & Daniel Radcliffe deliver a spectacular performance.

Great Movie,

This film was one of the best I've seen this year. The acting from all was incredible, especially Radcliffe and Dehann.

Fallen for the wrong one...

So this movie is about Allan's ginsberg, the famous poet, but what it's ultimately about is his love for someone who has no love for anyone but himself. I wanted to give this movie three stars because four seems a little high but according to the review system on itunes, three stars mean's it was ok and to be honest it seemed better than okay, but four stars, seems a little high. I think it will really resignate with people who have fallen inlove with someone ,male or female, who basically is a manipulator and uses the other persons love for them to get what they want. In some ways the movie is very tasetful and in other ways it's not at all. The twisted relationship is between the two leading males and a retired professor who can't seem to let his love obessession for (Dane Deehan) Charachter go. but (Dane Deehan's) Charachter keeps him a bit on the hook so the professor will write his college essays for him. while in the meantime Dane Deehan's Charachter is already making his mark on (Daniel Radcliffe) Allan Ginsberg. It touches on the gay issues a little bit back then which I thought was cool. But that's not why I liked it and I don't think that's why you'll like it either. It's atmospherically dark and depressing but somehow at the end seems to have a little bit of a light for the famous poet.
