The makers of 'The War Room' and 'Don't Look Back,' D.A. Pennebaker and Chris Hegedus, turn their sights on the competition for the Meilleurs Ouvriers de France (MOF), France's Nobel Prize for pastry. Imagine a scene never before witnessed: Sixteen French pastry chefs gathered in Lyon for three intense days of mixing, piping and sculpting everything from delicate chocolates to six-foot sugar sculptures in hopes of being declared by President Nicolas Sarkozy one of the best. Top Critics' Reviews
Fresh: You'll be surprised by how devastating the collapse of a chocolate tower can be.
Fresh: It's a good bet any cocky contestant on Top Chef would keel over from the rigors of the challenge, the rituals of which are treated with fervent concentration by these meticulous artistes with their piping bags and spun-sugar sculptures.
Fresh: Building up to the tension-filled final cook-off, the helmers introduce a trio of top candidates, observing their training methods and motivations.
Fresh: Everything these men make - no women have ever competed for the pastry MOF - looks so mouth-watering that no one should dare watch this film on even a half-empty stomach.

Don
This documentary follows 3 contestants in the Meilleur Ouvrier de France (Patisserie) competition. Basically, it's 90 minutes of watching the best pastry and candy makers in the world working their craft. Their creations are absolutely stunning and could leave you wanting to rush out to the nearest bakery. Highly recommended for anyone who loves pastry.
Kings of Pastry
Wasn't sure at first if I would like this, but turned soon to a thoroughly great movie. Highly recommend. Don't worry...very little subtitles.
This is the ultimate in baking contests
This was a fascinating look at one of the most prestigious pastry contests in the world and the chefs that shelf their lives in the hopes of being named to this honor. Fascinating and gripping story.
