Plot Summary
In her first Comedy Central one-hour special, Kristen Schaal: Live at the Fillmore, Schaal is not afraid to go blue at times (which is shop talk for explicit). She will talk about taints. She will perform her magician's assistant audition. She may even surprise the audience with a special guest: her dancing horse. Known to many as a correspondent on The Daily Show with Jon Stewart and as an eccentric fan on Flight of the Conchords, Kristen Schaal unleashes her hysterical comedic wit upon San Francisco. Big fan. Rushed home. Not a good show. Post lazy eye joke she bombed.
Not for everyone
Sometimes she's a great comedic actress (Flight of the Conchords) she's been a very good voice actor (Toy Story 3, American Dad) and other times she's so obnoxious that she can almost ruin terrific television shows (her stint on 30 Rock was painful). Her stand up most will find is reminiscent of the last category. It is a very specific type of humor, very "inside" and hipster flavored. If cloyingly self aware humor delivered wide eye and steeped in irony with bits so absurd you're often not sure if you've seen a punchline...or even a joke is your cup of tea, then this is for you. Most others looking for the same type of comedic timing you've come to expect from her acting work will probably find it all very annoying.
Worst $10 entertainment purchase I've ever made on iTunes
Sweet jeebus, what a trainweck. You'd get more entertainment value watching a blank screen. Bummer, love her work on Flight of Conchordes and Bobs Burgers but this was a flop.
