Rotten: Henson's imagination is boundless. But his movie has no pep. It's a dream in neutral.

One of my favorite childhood movies!
I'm still in love with David Bowie from this movie and I was 4 when it came out. I still love Jennifer in every movie she's in. I still sing the songs from this movie and love telling people "You have no power over me." LOVE LOVE LOVE THIS MOVIE!!!!
Favorite!
Evidently whoever gave this movie bad reviews didn't grow up in the 80's/90's, one of my favorite alltime movies!
YOU have no POWER over me!
MY. FAVORITE. MOVIE. OF. ALL. TIME. This movie is AMAZING, with a breathtaking musical score, cast, plotline, and visual effects (for the 80's). I am only 14 and I LOVVE this movie!!! The summary here makes it sound dull and pontless, and a children's tale, but there is a completely three-dimensional plot going on here. This movie is not a simple faery tale for young children, it is a masterpiece dealing with growing up, being free, and responsibility and the price it pays. BUY IT NOW or you shall face the wrath of Jareth!!! I've seriously seen it like 15 times and I am pretty sure I unintentionally memorized it. David Bowie as the Jareth, the Goblin King, is a perfect match and I sometimes plop down and only watch all of his scenes alone :) Thumbs up if the mystical, magical, whimsical ballroom scene is your favorite!
