Plot Summary
Academy Award(R) nominated stars Joaquin Phoenix and John Travolta ignite the intense action in this heroic tale of ordinary men with uncommon courage! As part of a tightly knit brotherhood of skilled firefighters, Jack Morrison (Phoenix) grows from inexperienced rookie to seasoned veteran as he faces a dangerous job that makes him a hero to strangers but often shortchanges his wife (Jacinda Barrett) and kids. Fresh: Ladder 49 might have been an oversized Hollywood dazzler. Phoenix keeps it firmly and modestly on a human scale.
Rotten: In its determination to create a tribute, the filmmakers smooth too many edges and simplify too many complex emotions.
Rotten: Plays as if the filmmakers compiled a list of every smoke-eater cliche imaginable and then resolutely set about crossing them off.
Rotten: Even the best scenes feel canned, secondhand, packaged. We've seen this all before.

Amazing Movie
Please Make It Available To Purchase.
Rental only = 4 stars
W/O a doubt one of the best looks in to emergency services and the effect it could have on families. Only reason it gets four stars is that its not available for purchase. Make it buyable and I change my rating.
