Plot Summary
Water. It's the earth's most valuable resource. Our cities are powered by it, countless industries depend on it, and all living things need it to survive. But it's very possible that in the near future, there won't be enough to sustain life on our planet. From Academy Award®-winning director Jessica Yu (Breathing Lessons: The Life and Work of Mark O'Brien) and Academy Award®-nominated producer Elise Pearlstein (Food, Inc.) LAST CALL AT THE OASIS sheds light on the vital role water plays in our lives, exposes the defects in the current system, shows communities already struggling with its ill effects and introduces us to individuals who are championing revolutionary solutions, such as activist Erin Brockovich and distinguished experts Peter Gleick, Alex Prud'homme, Jay Famiglietti and Robert Glennon.

Top Critics' Reviews
Fresh: Ms. Yu, who has directed scripted television episodes as well as documentaries, wraps a lot of bad news into a slick, informative, fast-moving package.
Fresh: Whether the glass is half full or half empty isn't the point of the effervescent Last Call at the Oasis: It's whether there'll be anything in the glass at all.
Fresh: A many-lensed look at the coming water-supply crisis.
Rotten: It's true that Americans contribute disproportionately to the problem, but catering to the idea that we're separate from the rest of the world isn't part of the solution.

Awareness not a solution
the movie was really interesting to watch. i initially got into it because of my professor offering us extra credit for writing a summary about it and it was pretty revealing.
i would have given it a 5 but the fact of the matter is this movie raises awareness to the fact that we are using more water then is being given by natural resources rather than telling us what to do.
regardless it was worth the watch.
