Plot Summary

She was smart, beautiful and talented, and as lead singer of THE INSAINTS, would-be rock star Marian Anderson reigns as one of the Bay Area's most provocative and controversial lead singers of the '90s punk scene. The fetish model and dominatrix quickly became known for her wild and lewd live sex acts during performances. Narrated by pop-culture icon Henry Rollins, Last Fast Ride - The Life, Love and Death of a Punk Goddess, is the cautionary tale of the youth, tormented adolescence and tragic untimely demise of this legendary performer.

Last Fast Ride documentary

An amazing, intimate study of a person's life beyond mere surface examination. Narrated by punk legend Henry Rollins, and featuring interviews with longstanding punk scene stalwarts of various degrees of recognizition (including Rancid's Tim Armstrong, the Offspring's Dexter Holland, the Lunachick's Becky Wreck, Rezurex and Instaints founding member Daniel de Leon, White Trash Debutante's Ginger Coyote, and Texis Terri). There are also extensive archival interviews with subject Marian Anderson herself, as well as revealing interviews with long-time friends and associates.

Unlike a lot of documentaries these days, this is a personal and touching examination of one woman's struggle with sexual abuse and drug addiction in the midst of the mid-80's to late 90's punk scene. It is NOT a political commercial or an ideological hammer. Instead, if focuses on the personal, the immediate, the trials and triumphs of a ciminally underrated singer and performer, Marian Anderson. Cannot recommend highly enough.
