Plot Summary
Chronicling the last night of a seedy Houston bar, Eagle Pennell's hilarious classic American indie from IFC Films, featuring a script by Kim Henkel (The Texas Chainsaw Massacre), is marked by the simplicity and ease with which ordinary blue-collar existence is brought to life on screen. Anticipating the inevitable wrecking ball, the Alamo's regulars gather to celebrate the bar's last night. Throughout the evening, we meet Cowboy (Sunny Davis) an admired patron with a reputation to live up to; Claude (Lou Perry), a man whose domestic troubles have him blaring imaginative curses towards his wife throughout the film, and Ichabod (Steve Matilla) and Mary (Tina Hubbard) a quarrelsome couple who clearly are a perfect match.

Super Cult Classic Movie
The Alamo is about the closing of a Texas honky tonk. It is also about about lost being a major part of the human condition. The characters cannot accept themselves for what they are. They are more comfortable pretending to be something else. What is important the night before means little to the world when the sun rises the next day. A cult classic that I thought was lost forever, but Apple has brought it back in digital format to ensure that we can future generation change learn and enjoy. Three cheers to Apple!!!
