Top Critics' Reviews

Rotten: The Lawnmower Man depends mostly on a lot of colorful video-game-like special effects. They are very loud but, after a while, the noise and the lights induce a torpor that is quite soothing. – Vincent Canby, New York Times, Apr 1, 2014

Fresh: Dazzling computer animation and special effects overcome The Lawnmower Man's mundane story. – Variety Staff, Variety, Apr 1, 2014

Rotten: So loosely based on a Stephen King short story as to constitute fraud, The Lawnmower Man goes right to the bottom of a growing list of failed King adaptations. – Richard Harrington, Washington Post, Apr 1, 2014

Rotten: The Lawnmower Man echoes Frankenstein and a zillion other noble-scientist-whose-experiment-goes-awry movies. – Steven Rea, Philadelphia Inquirer, Apr 1, 2014

Only Rent!

SyBoMan death edited out and that is a big disappointment!

good movie

i loved this movie when i was a kid great scifi movie rathen then a horro movie great plot i also love stephen king movies good special effect worth buying

Conceptually Brilliant Sci-fi

The lawnmower man is conceptually brilliant sci-fi whose main fault is that its 1990's movie style is not equal to its groundbreaking ideas. (Jeff, who decided on that hairstyle?) Even so, if you like sci-fi you will like and maybe even love this...

Postscript--This movie is not that old but if it were re-made with current movie tech today... wow!
