Plot Summary

Parole Officer Walter Dishman (David Denman) is married to a seemingly perfect wife, but as his youth and independence slip away, he feels increasingly trapped by domestic bliss. But when three eccentric ex-convicts are placed under his supervison, it is just the inspiration he needs to turn things around. From the thieving, sultry femme fatale who is trying to seduce him and the cranky geriatric criminal who longs to return to a life of crime, to the doctor convicted of insurance fraud, it’s obvious that everyone has issues that need to be let go, including Walter.

An original treasure!

What an original treasure, masterfully cast, from stellar cameos by Brian Husky, Maria Thayer and Dov Davidoff (to name a few) to the delicately woven beauty given by the principal ensemble of David Denman (The Office), Gillian Jacobs (Community), Kevin Hart (Think Like A Man, Chelsea Lately), Simon Helberg (Bing Bang Theory), and not to mention Ed Asner (Mary Tyler Moore, JFK, Up, etc). Denman's endearing charm brings to life Walter Dishman with such a heartwarming performance. Jacobs exudes a poignant grace and strength in her flawless portrayal of Darla. Hart is just that, all heart; and he'll move into your's quite permanently. Holy moley, look out Paul Giamatti, Simon Helberg in on your heels! And what can be said about Asner. The great. Ed. Asner. His talent: to be reckoned with. And his embodiment of Artie Satz: seamless! Of course none of this world of Let Go would exist were it not for the mind of the writer and director Brian Jett. He brilliantly created a film that tugs at your heart with an authenticity we've all been thirsty for! His writing/directing reveals elements of depth and cleverness in this comedy that is so refreshing and his eye for detail shines through every frame--one of the best morsels is the use of little artful vignettes sprinkled throughout the film. Jett's dynamic piece leaves the heart overflowing with delight, make it a part of your film library post haste!!!

A real gem!!

This movie was recommend to me by a friend and I really loved it. Very quirky and funny, but also very touching. It has an amesome cast and the performances are really good through out. Particularly liked Kevin Hart, who is great. It is also one of those movies that still has you thinking about it days later. Thoroughly entertaining from beginning to end, you're in for a real treat!

I really enjoyed this movie! Kevin Hart presents an especially great performance although the entire cast is really good. The story line is touching, and the characters are all just quirky enough to keep you guessing. I would highly recommend this movie to anyone.
