Disappointed
I was looking forward to Lewis's new special but when I saw this on Comedy Central I was very disappointed. Not funny really. Maybe Comedy Central took out all of the funny parts, I don't know. But Lewis, I know you can do better. Sorry, just my two cents. I really like LB….just not this special.
Sarcasm is the wit of the fool...
Even if you say "sarcasm is the wit of the fool" sarcastically.
It also, along with feigned anger, stops being funny after a pretty short while.
My bias here is I don't like comedians who bring in too much by way of politics and/or preaching. While I probably largely agree with Black politically, where I don't - it isn;t because I've spent less time thinking about it or am less informed, but more to the point, I don't want to have some comedian lecturing me behind a thin veil of predictable jokes when I just want to see some comedy.
If you like oft-repeated, prosaic taunts of the "right wing" with your comedy - this is for you. Black is an above average stand up, but this is too much of the same formula, and too much preaching from a guy who confuses the ability to be sarcastic with having genuine insight about complex issues best left off the comedy stage.
