Great ideas, bad documentary
I had higher hopes for this documentary. I agree with the reviewer before me that the choice of the 3 people they follow in the documentary were odd choices. These people make libertarians look like weak beta-male nerds. The film itself is pretty boring and for such charged topics as force versus freedom and the ever encroaching powers of the State, something like this should NEVER be boring or slow. A lot of the film is just watching people pack up their belongings, walk around, do laundry, and talk in weak tones about a few of the basic libertarian principles. The film never delves into the many ways the people moving to New Hampshire are going to affect change there, except for a brief bit on passing a medical marijuana bill that eventually gets vetoed by the governor anyway. The people who aren't total geeks are seen as older, overweight men and women with long hippie-like hair and carrying handguns. The whole thing just makes libertarians look bad, which I am certainly against. We can do much better than this for our movement.
Enjoyable
My family and I really enjoyed this film. Some here appear to be upset that this is failing to 'sell' the free state project. I don't think that is the films intention. It is a compelling documentary about people who are changing their lives for the better in a unique manner. It is certainly informative about the project but it seems odd to have expected this to be a sales job.
So, if you want to watch a fun, inspirational, pro liberty documentary, this is it. If you want to be inspired to join the free state project, or convice a room full of statists as to the wisdom of libtertarianism, look elsewhere.

Onward to Freedom!
I really loved this film and the reason is simple: inspirational characters that made me want to take an active role in my government again. The story is about three unique characters who join the Free State Project in New Hampshire to create a stronghold for libertarianism , however the narrative goes far beyond any particular political leaning. The film is really about our privilege and responsibility as Americans to change a system that we no longer believe serves us, and the FSP aims to do just that at a very local level. Over the past few years, it seems like many people have become politically apathetic because a feeling of massive disconnect with governance. Personally, I can relate to this in a huge way. As a result, many do nothing. The determination and persistence of the characters in this film is really inspirational. They make huge sacrifices to express their political beliefs, sacrifices that include leaving one's family behind to move across the country and answer to the call of a movement. Anyone like myself who is tired of feeling politically disabled will find inspiration in this documentary. The filmmaker did a fantastic job at capturing the very real and personal stories of these characters, whilst entertaining and leaving the audience asking themselves what needs to be done next.
