Plot Summary
Thousands of corroded copper urns containing the cremated remains of unclaimed psychiatric patients are discovered in 2004. A tour of the Oregon State Hospital involving the local press and a State Senator was conducted to uncover the deplorable conditions of the hospital. What they didn’t expect to find was a storeroom full of human ashes dating back to the late 1800′s. Photos are taken of the mysterious corrosive effect on the canisters and several histories of these forgotten souls are revealed in this unique tale.

Library of Dust
Excellent documentary! Very interesting information on a subject most people have never heard of. Rob James is an excellent director. Can't wait to see more of his work!
Library of Dust
Fascinating and compelling film. The photographs are stunning.
Brilliant
This is one documentary that stays with you and makes you think how these peoples lives were just forgotten. Robert James did a great job of telling the story in a excellent and compelling manner. That so many lessons can be learned from this film should be instructive to today's filmmakers, but sadly, it's not. Every time I see the film it brings a tear to my eye and at the same time I am glad that some of the remains are getting proper closure from families stepping forward. Brilliant doc.
