Plot Summary

Progeria is a rare, fatal genetic condition that causes accelerated aging in children; its young victims rarely live past 13. This moving documentary explores the remarkable world of Sam Berns and the relentless pursuit of a treatment and cure by his parents (both doctors) to save their son from the disease. Directed by Oscar(R) winners Sean and Andrea Fine ("Inocente"), the film chronicles three years of the family's inspiring efforts, which led to the first clinical drug trials and the discovery that progeria is linked to the human aging process.

Amazing

Both Sam and his parents are truly heroes. The work they have put in to find a cure for Progeria is amazing. The documentary exhibits their hard work and family life well, and leaves you shouting at the tv screen as if it is a football game, as you wait for medical journals to approve the paper. RIP Sam. You are so brave.
