Lighthouse Island

Plot Summary

Lighthouse Island is a quiet place. On the south side of the island is a small village of fishermen and tradesmen. Zeb Norman bicycles into the village one day to buy a wedding present for his bride to be, Rosalee. Zeb finds himself in a place like no other; where a little girl walks a polar bear on a leash… where oxen and llamas share the dirt roads with broken-down pick-up trucks. A local merchant of jewelry and clothing, Clara Bufford, has a gift that catches Zeb’s eye, and Zeb will stop at nothing to get it. But there is a price to pay as he enters into a mysterious bargain with the shopkeeper. He must retrieve a stolen pearl which has the power to transform the shape of whoever possesses it.
