Plot Summary
French box-office sensation LITTLE WHITE LIES is a sparkling comedic drama from Guillaume Canet, the writer-director of the worldwide smash hit Tell No One. Bringing together the top names from France's current generation of actors, including Jean Dujardin, Marion Cotillard and François Cluzet, Canet weaves a joyous and heartfelt film out of the dilemmas of a circle of friends on their annual summer vacation after tragedy has struck one of their own. With its nostalgic soundtrack of classic hits, LITTLE WHITE LIES is a contemporary spin on The Big Chill, a generational statement on youthful frivolity giving way to middle-aged pleasures and sorrows, with a finely observant eye on modern-day relationships.

Top Critics' Reviews
Rotten: Although these friends have some fun horsing around in the water, their conflicts and rivalries make for a tense, joyless holiday that is anything but relaxing.
Rotten: The trouble with Guillaume Canet's French gloss on The Big Chill is that it has no underlying chill.
Fresh: Can tout a gorgeous setting, a group of appealing actors and a mastery of the art of wine-fueled conversation.
Fresh: The movie is 154 minutes long. It probably doesn't need to be that long, but there's an advantage to sinking into this milieu, growing familiar with the characters and learning their stories.

A long but meaningful film
I'm American. I'm trying to learn French by watching French films. This was a great film. I really connected with the characters, and thought the actors performance was tres bien! ;) I laughed, I cried. I'm touched.
The art of subtlety
The French can pull off just about anything and make you think….No exception here..the talent in this film is immense…. Makes me want to take a "Holiday" and spend time with old friends….Yes, I get the Big Chill references in the Rotten tomatoes reviews, but there's more to this film than meets the eyes..
A must see!!!!!!
A very moving film. The French really know how to make a movie. Real emotions, complex characters with hilarious moments. A very moving film.
