Plot Summary
An alien race, undefeatable by any existing military unit, has launched a relentless attack on Earth, and Major William Cage (Tom Cruise) finds himself dropped into a suicide mission. Killed within minutes, Cage is thrown into a time loop, forced to live out the same brutal combat over and over, fighting and dying again and again. Training alongside warrior Rita Vrataski (Emily Blunt), his skills slowly evolve, and each battle moves them one step closer to defeating the enemy in this fun action thriller.

Top Critics' Reviews
Fresh: In "Edge of Tomorrow," Mr. Liman brings Mr. Cruise's smile out of semiretirement and also gives him the kind of physical challenges at which he so brilliantly excels.
Fresh: It's a star-driven mass-market entertainment that's smart, exciting and unexpected while not stinting on genre satisfactions.
Fresh: Refreshing and unexpected, both for its humor and for its upending of action norms.
Fresh: The metaphorical overlay of fantasy and history is the best thing Edge of Tomorrow has to offer -- and, for much of its running time, that overlay is enough to lend the movie a shiver of curious power.

An exceptional movie
This movie is one of the best movies I have seen in a long time. Not only does it have an amazing story, it is beautifully designed. Unlike most modern movies, it does not have any sex or mindless violence. It has a outstanding story that is filled with originality. There is nothing else like it.
Great story, acting, camera, locations - 3D a must!
I found this movie extremely entertaining. The plot is well constructed and I was right in the middle of it within the first few minutes. Emily Blunt does such a outstanding acting - gosh, I would had jumped right in to fight along her side. Great job! “Come see me when you wake up” Can’t wait to wake up ;) The movie is such a ride, you forget everything around and when it ends in a consisted final, I was like - hey can we go on for a while longer please? Or at least see it again, ok? Tom Cruise is getting more and more as a guaranty of good SF movies.
One of Tom's Best?
I'm not the biggest Tom Cruise fan out there (he's entertaining, but let's face it; he's a bit weird in real life), but this movie truly epitomizes all the great things about him and his career. Action, drama, comedy and romance. This movie hits all four in about that order. Action dominates all, but the drama of figuring out what is going to happen reels you in. The comedy was the most surprising part about this movie, though some might think myself a little gross for even considering all of it funny. Maybe a bit too dark, but I thought they did a great job of making the countless gruesome deaths hilarious. Finally… I love watching Emily Blunt work (that's who that is, right?). She was great in Seven Year Engagement and I think she adapted perfectly to this action role.
Any way, watch this movie as you will not regret it.
