Plot Summary

Living ‘til the End is a dysfunctional romance about a man who is so afraid of dying that he stops living his life, until he meets a woman who is dying, but has made a conscious decision to live her life right up to the end. Jack Whilton (Sean Maher) is a buttoned-down estate planner with a girlfriend, Cynthia, who is anything but. When Cynthia takes Jack to visit a psychic, as a lark, he receives not one, but two shocking pieces of news. First is that Cynthia has been having an affair, which she confesses to on the spot, and then, after Cynthia exits abruptly, the psychic reveals death on his next birthday. Instantly, Jack’s life turns upside down and he retreats to the safety of extreme agoraphobia in order to avoid his own death. All he has to do is wait out the year in his apartment-turned-bunker. Appeals from his mother (Janet Carroll) are ignored while efforts by his therapist (Stephen Tobolowsky) are rendered useless by Jack’s paralytic fear of dying. And then one day he meets Audrey (Jaime Ray Newman), a neighbor down the hall with a similar problem – she is also dying. While their predicaments are similar, they are not the same and it is that difference which allows Audrey to coax Jack out of his self-imposed bondage.
