Plot Summary

LOSING CONTROL is a 2012 theatrical feature that introduces you to the intelligence and humor of a true romantic comedy and plays for both men and women. The only movie ever shot on the Harvard Campus, LOSING CONTROL is a fresh and funny independent film that explores the universal idea that, at some point, everyone fears that there is a “right” way to find love, and that they might be going about it the wrong way. This original romantic comedy about a female scientist who wants empirical proof that her boyfriend is “the one,” stars Miranda Kent (Matumbo Goldberg, Campus Ladies) as the tightly wound scientist, Sam, questioning all that is in her heart because she didn’t test it against what is in her head with long time boyfriend Ben, played by the charming, Reid Scott (Veep, The Big C). Add to that the actor, Kathleen Robertson (Boss, Beverly Hills 90210), as Best Friend, Leslie, playing the foil to the slightly neurotic Sam and you have the makings of a true romantic comedy classic. LOSING CONTROL brings to the party comparisons of other great comedic romantic couples like Julia and Richard, Cameron and Ben, and Meg Ryan and anyone.

Top Critics' Reviews

Rotten: If you want to enjoy watching a confused scientist grappling with life choices, stick with "The Nutty Professor." – Nicolas Rapold, New York Times, Mar 22, 2012

Rotten: While Losing Control is a thoroughly likable, playful comedy, there's never a sense that writer-director Valerie Weiss is in total command of film's tone, pacing or comic content, which is considerable. – John Anderson, Variety, Mar 26, 2012

Rotten: Perhaps investigating something new would have better served Weiss than simply looking to her own experiences, exploring rather than settling. – Mark Olsen, Los Angeles Times, Apr 12, 2012

Rotten: Science-themed rom-com isn't ready for clinical trials. – John DeFore, Hollywood Reporter, Mar 26, 2012
