Plot Summary

A savage comedy about deceit and sibling rivalry, LOVERS OF HATE centers on Rudy and Paul, two estranged brothers who have nothing in common but their love for Rudy’s soon-to-be ex-wife Diana. When opportunistic Paul whisks Diana away to a romantic mountain retreat, he has no idea that Rudy has made it there first, and from the shadows of the posh chalet, Rudy tries desperately to sabotage the relationship.

Top Critics' Reviews

Fresh: An unusually perceptive examination of fraternal rivalry and failed ambition. – Jeannette Catsoulis, New York Times, Feb 11, 2011

Fresh: It lingers in the mind, thanks largely to its trio of actors -- especially Alex Karpovsky, who brings a riveting sense of spontaneity to depicting the younger brother's slow-burning rage. – Rob Nelson, Variety, Sep 16, 2010

Fresh: A 2010 Sundance favorite, this inventive (and inventively thrifty) character study from Austin indie stalwart Bryan Poyser never flinches from the intractable sibling resentment at its core. – Mark Holcomb, Village Voice, Feb 8, 2011

Fresh: If you were ever wondering what Die Hard would have been like if Neil LaBute directed it as an art film, prepare to enjoy Lovers of Hate. – Peter Hartlaub, San Francisco Chronicle, Jun 24, 2010
