Lucky Luke (2009)

Failed adaptation once more....

     

After a long series of failed adaptations of amazing comics to the big screen by the french cinema (Blueberry, Asterix, Largo Winch), sadly, Lucky Luke was the victim this time. If you really enjoyed reading the comic being a kid like i did, you are in for a major disappointment. Clearly, the director did not really understand the great universe of the comic created by Morris and Goscinny and it shows on the screen. It's actually fair to wonder if they even read the comic before doing the movie. The characters that we loved in the comic have very little depth and are poorly interpreted; although I really like Dujardin as an actor, this must be his worst acting performance honestly. Even if you don't know the comic, I doubt you will have a pleasant moment, too many times the movie tries too hard to make us laugh, weak plot, poor dialogues and no real chemistry in this fiction that is neither a western nor a comedy. 2 stars at best.
