Rotten: As the film veers uncertainly between meticulous historical recapitulation and shameless hokum, it brings enough characters to populate a mini-series.
Fresh: Heady theological badminton, as vigorously thoughtful as it is piously historical.
Fresh: After a summer of numbing mindlessness, there is something frankly refreshing about a movie that deals even superficially with as significant a figure as the rebellious 16th century theologian Martin Luther.
Rotten: For all its scope and detail, Luther fails to convey the sense of history moved by a compelling individual.

Excellent
Seen it three times. Well made, well acted. Worthwhile movie.
WONDERFUL!!
so so good! i watched it in History class at my school because we are studying the reformation of the church. This movie does a very excellent job of created wut it would have been like back in that time period and all the things Martin Luther had to face. Joeseph Fiennes does such an inspiring job of depicting this role! awesome awesome movie!!!!!!
This Movie Portray An Amazing Legend In History!
This movie was really good in its accuracy of his real life. This man was a legend to stand up to the corrupt Roman Catholics and by his movement in faith and teaching the true words of Christ in the true gospels. He brought people out of the darkness of ignorance and of the false doctrines of men who teach them as doctrines of God back to the true doctrines of Christ and the 10 Commandments thereof. Too bad many Lutherans fell to man made traditions after he died. But may many more stand up for the true words of Christ, the full 10 Commandments in whole, and to not follow organizations of error and traditions who nullify the words of God. (Mark 7:13 KJV) (Matthew 15:6 KJV) Amen.
