Plot Summary
Magic in the Water chronicles the adventures of ten-year-old Ashley Black, who accompanies her divorced father on vacation to Glenorky--a fresh-water lake known for the legendary creature rumored to be lurking beneath its surface. Ashley is drawn to a mysterious presence in the lake, and the adventure begins.

Rotten: On the minus side are a heavy-handed dose of political correctness and a needless flight into dubious whimsy in an already fanciful situation.
Rotten: If Magic in the Water had been written smarter, both children and adults would have enjoyed it more.
Rotten: I was so fed up with the bogus sentiment in Magic in the Water that I started wishing it were Harmon gasping for breath instead of the cheap rubber thing with the eyes. No such luck.

Wonderful and enchanting
This film was one of the best I ever saw in my youth. It never received the attention it should have. The story shows us what it means to have true and long-lasting relationships and how to make these relationships stand the test of the pressures of our society. Love and friendship are the main themes and no matter how old you become, there is always something you can learn from this amazing story.

This film is against killing wales. That is right, the purpose of the film is similar to that of Free Willy. I first read about this film in a movie guide. From what I read, this film is not very well known, and it was a medium budget film. Now, I will say this once more. Yo! iTunes! PLEASE ADD the film with Sir Anthony Hopkins called, MAGIC: A TERRIFYING LOVE STORY. Please add MAGIC, please! It is such a great film from 1978! It is the best film concerning ventriloquist and magic! So please add it already! X-BOX LIVE Marketplace already did, why can't iTunes do the same? PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE!
