Plot Summary
Metallica Through the Never is a groundbreaking music-driven motion picture event. The film combines a spectacular never-before-seen live-performance by Metallica created exclusively for the film and a suspenseful narrative to produce a bracing, raw and visceral cinematic experience. Emerging young star Dane DeHaan (A Place Beyond the Pines, Kill Your Darlings, The Amazing Spider-Man 2 & 3) portrays Trip, a young roadie sent on an urgent mission that turns into a surreal adventure, while Metallica performs its most iconic songs during a roaring live set in front of a sold-out arena. Metallica Through the Never features the most elaborate live-performance stage ever built. Metallica, one of the most popular and influential rock bands in history, is James Hetfield (vocals, guitar), Lars Ulrich (drums), Kirk Hammett (guitar, background vocals) and Robert Trujillo (bass, background vocals). The film is written and directed by award-winning filmmaker Nimród Antal (Predator, Kontroll) and produced by Charlotte Huggins (Journey to the Center of the Earth).

Metallica controls the strings of the puppets
A MASSIVE CONCERT FILM YOU WON'T SOON FORGET!
Of all the huge concert films to have come out in the past few years, "Metallica: Through the Never" is quite simply the most creative and impressive one I've seen to date. Instead of just letting their show play out from beginning to end, the band has decided to include a wildly imaginative fantasy-horror narrative starring the very talented Dane DeHaan, which is intertwined with atmospheric live footage. The plot itself is massively entertaining in terms of its dark visuals and escalating levels of sheer anarchic violence. Swiftly descending into chaotic madness with a gas-masked horseman hanging people and charging towards Trip (the film's young roadie protagonist played by DeHaan) with furious vengeance, the maniacal plot fits in perfectly with Metallica's striking chords and lyrics about injustice (as does the crumbling on-stage Lady Liberty). Director Nimród Antal manages to make this arena setting an intimate and raw experience with his superbly surreal execution. The cameras swooping in and out of the crowd, whose passion and chanting is infectious, alongside the insane pyrotechnics of the live show is something to behold. The imagery of electrical surges and bullets raining down on to the stage not only brings a grand sense of occasion to the proceedings, but also a huge, thrilling rush of nostalgia for the massive, head-banging heights of the '80s. The great skills of guitarist Kirk Hammett and bassist Robert Trujillo are commanding and mesmerizing, and Lars Ulrich and sweats along proudly banging his drums, while James Hetfield booms out their definitive hit tracks ("Master of Puppets," "Enter Sandman," "Creeping Death," the list goes on). And it's every bit as magnificently outrageous as it's always been. Sure, some of the surreal fictional sequences never quite match the visceral, electrifying ferocity of the band's brilliant performance clips, but "Through the Never" nonetheless stands out one of the most unforgettable rock concert films in recent memory. Although it's really more of an extended cinematic music video than anything else, it's a continually exhilarating experience all the same thanks to its striking imagery, thunderous sound, and superb direction. Whether you're a diehard Metallica fan or you just wanna enjoy an awesome heavy metal spectacle, this film is easily worth your time.

I already watch it. This movie is just for the Metallica fans.. A great concert, all the effects and a great sound.
