Brilliant.

This movie is a testiment to Clint Eastwood's directing ability. Wonderfully done! John Cusack at his best in the late '90s. Kevin Spacey never fails to perform above (& beyond) the usual acting standards, & Jude Law's character was bizarre to say the least. Buy this movie. It's worth every penny.

inticing!

I live a few blocks away from Jim Williams house in Savannah and have for a few years now... this town is every bit as strange and wonderful as the movie suggests...read the book too its amazing!

Great movie, underrated

I felt this movie was well done. However, it isn't a movie I see played on TV often. Which is a shame. The talented cast was pretty amazing. This movie showed different parts of Savannah that not many people get to see. Another tidbit is a lot of people that were written into the story played themselves in the film (like the hairdresser and Lady Chablis). There are a lot of quirky characters in this town, so that adds a little color and energy to the story. My guilty pleasure of this film is the banter between Lady Chablis and John Kelso (played by John Cusack). I swear I can see Cusack laugh at the end of a scene....the dialogue was quick so it makes me wonder if they were ad-libbing. They provided great comedic relief to the heavy subject matter of the plot.
