Plot Summary
The battle of Midway sounded its furious thunder in June 1942, just six months after the attack on Pearl Harbor. Midway interweaves the dramatic personal stories of the men who fought the courageous battle that was to be the Pacific turning point for the United States. The all-star cast and breakthrough war footage convey the Battle of Midway with powerful reality and epic sweep.

Great WWII Movie!
This is probably one of my all time favorite WWII movies. Despite being a bit "Hollywoodish" at times, the movie is fairly true to what actually happened back in 1942. The aerial dogfight scenes are great... along with the carrier scenes. The cast of the movie is unbelieveable. If you've never seen it and you're a WWII / Navy buff, it's well worth the investment.
A War Movie Classic
A very well told story in the aftermath of Pearl Harbor. Many of the details of how our code breakers figured out where the Japanese were going to hit next. The tragedy of Torpedo 8 (and the other torpedo bombers as well) is chronicled here and is immediately followed by the climax of the movie when our dive bombers find the Japenese task force and sink 3 carriers in 5 minutes. The success of the dive bombers is directly attributable to the fact that Torpedo Squadron 8 had pulled the Japanese fighter cover down to wave top level - leaving the dive bombers to press their attack unassaulted by fighters. Great movie, great cast, great story. The only negative is the mix of studio and combat footage mixing aircraft types. I recommend this film highly. Two thumbs up!!
Classic. Buy it if you dont have it.
This one is a WWII classic and is a must have on your ipad or iphone/ipod. Pretty historically acurate too. Awesome film.
