Plot Summary

Enos Slaughter's speed and daring brought the Cardinals their sixth World Series title in 1946. With two outs in the eighth inning of Game 7, Slaughter came home all the way around from first base for the series-winning run - challenging the arm of a backup center fielder and catching everyone in the ballpark by surprise.
