Plot Summary
In 1947, Jackie Robinson became the first African-American to play in the Major Leagues in the 20th century. Buoyed by his bat and energized by his speed on the basepaths, the Brooklyn Dodgers stormed to the World Series in Robinson's rookie campaign. But the rival Yankees edged Robinson and his Dodgers to win the World Series in seven games.
