Plot Summary
Although the Yankees had beaten the Dodgers in three of the previous six Fall Classics, Brooklyn gave notice in Game 1 of the 1955 World Series that it wouldn't be dismissed this time. Jackie Robinson's steal of home in the opener left no doubt that the Dodgers were not settling for anything less than a championship. They won the series, four games to three.
