Plot Summary
Lew Burdette of the Milwaukee Braves was not the most imposing pitcher, but he was effective, particularly in the 1957 World Series against the Yankees. The often-fidgety Burdette went the distance to win games 2, 5, and 7. The latter two were shutouts and helped the Braves become the first non-New York team to win the title since 1948.
