Plot Summary
By the end of the 1950s, many Americans had followed new highways out of their cities to settle in the suburbs. Likewise, several baseball teams left their traditional homes. The Dodgers gave up Brooklyn for Los Angeles in 1958 and soon found success on the West Coast. Former Flatbush heroes Gil Hodges and Johnny Podres helped bring California its first world championship in 1959.
